The Germans like to join words together to create new words, huge words, so many syllables it’s like reading an essay in a single… word. A meal in a snack. An atomic explosion in a bubble of fizz. But let’s not get carried away. ‘Atomic’, indeed. This combination of words represents something more refrigerated. It’s, essentially, a bassline. That’s what you’ll be humming, rather than the ethereal vocals, the vocoder being answered by the very human Jacqui Soho. It’s a bassline and a beat. Footsteps on a 5AM Berlin street. Sexy but sexless. It’s what your IKLAN’s for, knock back the frothy top and stick your tongue into the dark joy. Totally meaningless. Which, nowadays (there’s another one of them words), means a lot.
